Saeed Khalique is the Managing Director of Alma Home, a leading UK leather furniture designer and manufacturer based in East London.
Councillor Denise Jones has been serving as the Leader of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets since May 2006. Denise is a member of the five Borough Olympic Board and is also currently the Chair of the Tower Hamlets Local Strategic Partnership.
John Burton manages Trinity Buoy Wharf (Docklands), Swindon market Hall, Greenwich Market and the retail units owned by Peabody Trust at West Silvertown Urban Village. He is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has an MSC on covered retail markets.
Ella Doran is an award winning contemporary designer. Based in East London, Ella has been listed in Elle Decoration's Top 100 British Design Icons, and continues to support East London based design initiatives including Hidden Art. She has a strong commercial client list, including Harrods, Absolut, SCP, Portmeirion and Tate Enterprises.
Liam Kane is the Chief Executive of ELBA, East London Business Alliance. Previously he was MD at the Dome, responsible for raising sponsorship and the Community Involvement Programme. Prior to that he spent 28 years working in newspapers for News International and the Mirror Group.
Cllr Clair Hawkins has been a Tower Hamlets Councillor since 2006. Clair is 29 and has lived in Tower Hamlets for over 10 years. She went to Queen Mary College, University of London in Mile End and is an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Tutor at a large Further Education College in London.
Robert Trimble is the Director of the Bromley By Bow Centre, a non profit making Community Development Centre which has been in existence since early 1980s. The Centre serves the local community providing health care services and other support to local enterprises. It has strong focus on arts is the basis for many of the creative enterprises.
Brian Falconbridge is the Head of the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media & Design, at London Metropolitan University. Brian is an artist and academic. He has exhibited widely nationally and internationally (sculpture and works on paper) since 1972.
John Newbigin is a freelance strategy consultant and cultural entrepreneur with a client-list that includes the UK Film Council, the Arts Council of England and Channel 4 Television.
Cllr Shiria Khatun was elected to the East India and Lansbury ward in May 2006. After working with Overview and Scrutiny for one year, she was elected Lead Member for Culture by her fellow Councillors. She is a long-standing community activist with a particular interest in cultural and women's issues.
