Get Creative Day

On Saturday 18th February 2006 at the Idea Store in Whitechapel hosted the first ever Get Creative Day for Tower Hamlets residents, with performances by local acts and creative workshops for all ages.
The day offered something for everyone with music, dance, drama, arts and crafts. Visitors watched performances by local acts and tried something completely new at one of the creative workshops.
Live performances featured Sainab Cige, Abdi Omar, Sitar Fusion, Ale Duvan, Green Candle Dance Company, Streetsoul and the Space Cadets.
The workshops included drama, singing, mask making, drawing, acting, urban dance, puppet making, drumming, story telling, pattern & print, music, rap & beatbox, and dance for older people.
The aim of the Get Creative Day was to raise the profile of arts and cultural activities in Tower Hamlets and help local people make the most of what's on offer.
