Ella Doran is about to enter her fifth year in business having established her design credibility through her unique synthesis of photographic imagery with the more creative techniques in textile design. Her innovative and rapidly expanding range of tabletop accessories– including trays, table mats, coasters, porcelain tableware, as well as mouse mats and digitally printed roller blinds – has brought her international recognition for bringing the outdoors indoors.

Shot against striking hand coloured backdrops, the beauty of the natural world – be it in the form of water, stones, leaves or indeed asparagus! – can now be seen adorning functional everyday objects in homes from London to New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

Through the use of digital printing, Ella Doran’s designs can be incorporated into interior settings. Her unique made-to-measure digitally printed roller blinds, demonstrate this ability to combine creative flare with technological know-how.

Ella has already won a series of awards including the NEC Princes’ Trust Award for most innovative and commercially viable product, the ELSBC Nat West/South Essex/Recorder awards for the Best New Company and East London small business of the year award 1998. While more recently, the DTI award (1999) gave her a place on the pilot scheme for the export USA initiative.
