The Crafts Council is the leading body for contemporary crafts in Britain. No other organisation focuses solely on crafts in the same way and provides an historical context as well as a contemporary direction.

Through its London base the Crafts Council provides a visitor attraction and education facility. We champion the considerable output of makers across a wide range of disciplines and the very best of contemporary work can be enjoyed through our Gallery exhibition and education programmes.

The Crafts Council Gallery mounts five exhibitions annually that set and reflect trends in contemporary craft practice. Crafts Council exhibitions are a source of inspiration for the public and practitioners alike. The programme explores many aspects of contemporary craft and allows visitors to experience some of the most up-to-date and fresh ideas being used in craft practice, both in the UK and internationally. Our exhibitions aim to encourage lively debate around the subject of contemporary craft. They also provide the opportunity for people to see at close hand exciting and innovative works and celebrate the maker's vision, skill and creativity.
