The 'Whores of Babylon' are an independent art group in the North West of England, founded by Gaynor Evelyn Sweeney. The philosophy of the group is to promote innovative and alternative art forms and practices, both as practitioners and in discourse and research. Each artist involved works independently, but also within group projects and this ethos extended to submissions for collaborations on national and international projects. The art forms range from live art, performance and conceptual, multi media and photographic and film production.
