Based on a true story, Damage is an immersive new performance piece set around a dining table, seeking to blur the boundaries between art and reality.

Directed by Ninaz Khodaiji, there is limited R&D funding and are looking for experienced, mature and committed people to fill the following paid roles. It is going to be a small, hands-on team with a tight budget and this will require us to wear many hats. They are able to offer a modest fee, but you will need to be committed to further dates, potentially in autumn or later.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/PRODUCTION MANAGER

An experienced, reliable, capable and tactful person with drama school training (especially Method and Actioning, possibly some Meisner). Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • To act as an outside eye, keep notes and assist the director (who is also performing)
  • Keep notes and rehearsal diary
  • Organise, co-ordinate and manage the production
  • Arrange and manage for sets, props, get-in, techs, get-out…
  • Organise and help with casting and auditions
  • Internal and external communication
  • Ability to set up and operate technical equipment (lighting, projectors, sound…
  • Any other duties as necessary (you have done this before, so you know…)

ASSOCIATE/ASSISTANT PRODUCER OR GENERAL MANAGER

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Administration, organising and general management of the production
  • Marketing, publicity, press relations, distribution
  • Invites, guest list
  • Help with running, setting up and operating the show
  • Arranging techs, get-ins, get- outs…
  • Communication, external and internal
  • Securing and sourcing props, costumes, equipment, marketing material etc.
  • Arranging co-ordinating and helping with casting and auditions
  • Helping secure and manage a further life for the show, including further London dates, touring and fundraising
  • Awareness of the funding system and ability to manage funded projects
  • Experience of drawing up contracts
  • Ability to set up and operate technical equipment (lighting, projectors, sound…) will be a huge advantage
  • Any other duties as necessary (you have done this before, so you know…)

The shows will run from April 19, 7.30 pm, April 20, 3pm and 7.30 pm at Richmix in Bethnal Green. More shows in other venues in autumn, to be confirmed. Full-time rehearsals will be 10am – 6pm from April 1 – 20, also at Richmix. Read-throughs – mid March onwards, location tbc. Auditions will be help in early March.
