After the huge success of CIDA’s Overlay Street Gallery in Brick Lane where 13 artists from different backgrounds were selected to feature on hoardings, CIDA continued the Overlay project in Hackney. We put a call out early 2010 for artists living or working in Hackney and producing New Media/Digital prints.

The Hackney hoardings protect a new development of homes and creative studios in Richmond Road, close to several cultural and leisure amenities including the Hackney Empire.

The Overlay brand and concept was originally developed for hoarding erected as part of the Cultural Trail in Brick Lane.
